Tranny/frontend whine

Have an 05 Matrix XR 4WD, 32,000 mi, auto, and I am getting a whine from the front somewhere. It's there all the time ,only when driving, It changes pitch alittle when letting off and accelerating, but still there. It kind of sounds like a differential whine., but seems to be coming from tranny / front area, it's hard to tell. I was told it could be a front wheel bearing, however, it does not change when making turns. Anyone have any thoughts??

yeh its the tranny, dont worry about it, it just makes that sound when the internals of the trans are spinning at a certain speed, for me its around 60 miles an hour in 6th gear at a low rpm. dont worry about it

Agreed. Always best to check while under warranty, and let them tell you that it's normal. It's best to take precautions.
