Icy windshield

2007 Matrix, a great car, but the interior of the windshield ices up when we go from a warm day to below zero day and it is parked outside overnight. Any thoughts?

Put a towel over your windshield overnight.

Smash the windshield out. You won't have that problem anymore.

If the inside is frosting then you have a crack or seal issue somewhere on the car.

Canada

what happens a lot is there is humidity in the car after you get out and then the drop in temp freezes it to the windshield, try opening 1 window just a crack and it will stop that from happening. (that is if you live in an area that you wouldn't mind leaving the window open just a little)

I did check, and the carpet is damp, but I am not sure if it is overly wet. We have a couple of feet of snow here and we go in and out and ski, etc, but others here with Matrixes do not have the same problem...do you have an idea about the wet floor. Also, recic is not on, we checked that..possibly a seal, perhaps with the roof racks for the skis???Thanks everyone for trying to help out, really appreciate the thoughts, although taking out the windshield, though workable, is extreme..lol

What gets me is that I don't know of any other brand new cars that this happens to. My '97 F350 doesn't have this problem and it gets just as much foul weather in its cab. I did get a new Monochramatic mirror with map lights and compass installed, and it was the first time for the mechanic, and he did have to pull the dash apart....perhaps??? Toyota is looking for answers too.

For some reason, totally unexplainable, my windshield frosts over on the inside 9 times out of 10 that I park under a street light for the night. Especially if its well below freezing.
