Question Matrix Exhaust

I'm looking into getting a GReddy catback exhaust system for my car, however, I have a base model (not XR or XRS). Almost all of the systems are labeled for XR or XRS and none for the base. The shop where I was planning on getting it installed suggested I call the dealership and ask if the part numers are the same. When I called I got three answers...

1) No they won't fit because the engines are the same.

2) Yes They will fit because all exhaust systems on ALL the matrix are the same, the part numbers are the same on all models so they use the same exhaust.

3) "I'm not going to say one way or another."

So I was wondering if anyone had tried it. I assume the first guy was wrong because if the part numbers are the same then the stock system is the same for all models. Will it fit or no?

the base matrix and the XR are exactly the same, the only difference is cosmetics on the XR, as far as lips and side skirts and fog lights, same engine same exhaust same suspension. so if it fits the XR it will fit the base

The only one which has a different exhaust is the AWD.

What year is the matrix?

I can't comment on the 2005 and newer, however, I know for a fact the the 2003-04 base and XR (fwd) are the same exhaust. 2003-04 XRS has a different exhaust (the flang is wider). As for the 4wd, I am pretty sure that's different from all the rest.

I agree with Titanium. Xr and base two wheel drive models are the same.
