Canada Cold Starts

Now that the Cold weather is upon us, i am having some problems on cold starts at teh begining of the day.

I work nights once and a while and i notice on teh really cold nights (and sometiems days) the car seems like it struggles a bit to start and when it does it seems liek it boggs sometimes.

Any ideas what the problem might be? is this normal due to cold starts?

Same here, the engine turns more before actually starting on cold winter days.

I believe it's normal.

However, you should replace the battery after ~4 years since I have read that they are wimpy.

That's the way the trixes are. A remote starter removes all the doubt as you don't even step outside until the car is at least slightly warmed up and the pulsating idling has settled down..

I'd like to get a remote starter. Are there any that you can install yourself? Or is it not worth it?

Install yourself is do able except a lot of the remote starter manufacturing stated right on their installation guide booklet that "the unit should install by license technician or they will not wanrantee" . So if you are electrician handy and like to play around then you can try . I got my install by an autoshop for peace of mine...well...almost (just make sure that you tell them exactly what you want ..I forgot about ask them to install the pd, pl, trunk function so I have to bring it back for second installation)
