I want to give my matrix a little more power and all my friend's say cold air intake. Is this modification possible on my XR or does it have to be the xrs model? Any input is appreciated.

there are plenty out for the 04 matrix xr, aem has one, injen has one, cosmo has one, and a whole bunch more on ebay and other retailers have one, happy hunting bro, anyone will sound great and increase power in the high end

There are plenty: AEM and Injen expect to pay USD$250 + . If your budget is tight go with Cosmo CAI around CDN$200. or SRI (short ram intake) less than $180
