Changing tires on my xr.....

I just changed the tires on my Matrix XR. I had it done at the shop. (Not a Toyota dealer). Anyway after getting in the car after getting them replaced, my "required maintenance" light came on. Not the tire pressure light, (which I have no idea if it's of any good to me anyway). The "required maintanence" light didn't come on after the car odometer rolled over 15,000 miles, which I thought it may have. The car is now at 15,300 miles.

Is it normal for the required maintanance" light to come on after getting new tires, and if so, how do I shut it off without taking it to the dealership and having them charge me for it?

it just reminds you to change your oil, it will start showing up after 4500 miles if you haven't reset the light

Really? 4500 miles? I'm used to every 3. Shows you that I still have a lot to learn about my Matrix. I'm used to the GM products. But I am loving my Matrix.

Thanks for the tip. I'll re-set it tomorrow!

On another note, it says nothing of the lights and such in my owner's manual. Anywhere I can find this information out on any of the other options in my car? I bought it used.

Go to the dealer and see if they will let your read one of the manuals for a vehicle on the lot.

The recommended service in the Trix is 5k or 5 months so that's the reason for the light at 4.5k.
