Most of the Engine, Transmission, and Interior parts are Toyota. The base model Matrix and Vibe share same Engine and Transmission (1.8 Corolla engine) made by Toyota. The Matrix xrs and Vibe GT share Engine and Transmission (1.8 Celica GTS engine) made by Toyota. The only thing that I know that is GM is the vibe exterior parts.

Pretty much what ^ he said. The 2zz motor is a Yamaha engine to be exact - which is from the Celica GTS.

In that case, I love my Yamaha-Toyota Matrix XRS.

The Delco radios that appeared in the 03/04's were GM. Mechnically, it's all Toyota.

The 2ZZ-GE is still considered Toyota. The design was by Yahama.
