I have a 2005 Toyota Matrix. The accelerator/gas pedal tension is too sensitive and needs to be adjusted.
How do I do this?
Thanks!

The good part is that everything is at the gas pedal. No steel cable to the engine since it's a fly by wire setup.

Unless of course if it is not a base model or Xr model. If its an Xrs, then you can adjust it at the gas pedal, or even easier, at the other end near the throttle bottle.

You can see the throttle cable very easily if you pop the hood, that is if its an XRS model. It is very easy to adjust. If its a base model, or XR model, then you have to sort of become a contorsionist, (although its not that bad), and adjust the cable where it hooks to the gas pedal. Either way its pretty easy. Yes, one can do it without taking it to the dealer, you just need a couple of open end wrenches. I dont know the exact size off the top of my head though.

The vehicle is a 2005 Sr.
I took a look under the dash. All I could see was a spring wrapped around the pedal housing.
Is that adjustable (how?) or do I adjust the cable at the firewall?
Thanks.
