Channels

Being new to the Matrix and not a camper I have a possibly obtuse question: What is used in the channels on the floor and seatbacks of the Matrix? I have found saddlebags listed but I am simply looking for something like channel cleats or eyes or something to use with bungee chords or to hold boxes in place. If there are no such things for the Matrix, why, pray tell, are those channels on the floor? What is their use?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Douglas

There are cleats that originally come with the Matrix the tighten into the channels so that you can tie stuff down. I've never used mine in almost 3 years though. I have the back seat folded down and a carpet on there for the dog.

egg meet face; face, egg

Back about 1960 there was a television series called "Hong Kong" starring Rod Taylor and Lloyd Bochner. One line I have never forgotten, when Bochner as the police commissioner says, "I don't mind being stupid. I just don't like finding out about it." Today while I was out in my car, a CRX Si, my wife fiddled around in the Matrix and found the channel cleats and installed them.
Thank you so much for your help as I am not sure if we would ever have found them otherwise.
There was a funny rectangular plastic thing in there as well, obviously meant to be installed, but she could not figure what it might be. I am guessing it can be screwed down like a divider?
My wife tells me that Toyota expects the dealer to install these things, at least here in Canada. I sincerely hope there are better Toyota dealerships than this one...
Thanks again.
