yes, i know i'm nowhere near Japan, but i know what i saw..!
both were RHD....
one white, and one in a broze/gold color...
The bronze gold color was most prob NOT a GT4, it was a regular caldina, the white one is new to me....but a few have made it to states, yes...how? shush......
Direct fuel injection VVT-i engine with catalog data of 20% + better mileage over an 11-year old 3S-FE -whoa.
But WTF is what I said when test driving a few in Japan. Even coupled with a CVT the 2 Liter 1AZ-FSE engine rated 155 HP pulls disappointingly meek in a 1460kg Toyota ISIS 7-seater minivan, compared to my 11 year old 2 Liter 3S-FE engine with 140 HP with 4-spd AT in the 1250 kg Caldina 5-seater wagon. We wanted to buy a new Isis and thought that particular car was sour, so the dealer got another one - same result. The 1AZ-FSE with CVT pulls marginally better in the 1520 kg NOAH 8-seater minivan,
The power-to weight ratio of Isis vs Caldina calculates to some 3% difference only, but the accelerative force of the FSE feels more like a bus. I attribute it to the electric throttle and the CVT programming in the name of economy nd ecology. Before the Caldina, we had a Nissan March (Micra) 1.3 liter with CVT, that one also pulled vigorously like the Caldina we are now selling.
yeah, the GT-4 is like 267hp or so. I'm wanna try and get some of the badges off the caldina though but i don't know where to look that even gives any type of info. that i can order some.
