hi to all!
i would to ask hows the reliability of 03-04 xrs 6spd. im planning to but this car as my 2nd car. gonna be used mainly in hwy driving about 160km a day. ive looked into this forums and found some major issues with the car , like check engine light, tranny problems , some wiring problems. pls i need all the experts help for this purchase. what to look for problems while im in a dealer, what to ask about the car and problems to look for.

this car should be perfect for my needs. lot of trunk space, fold flat seats, lots of head room(im6ft tall) and the looks of the car with decent hp.

Only real problem is that the clutches only get about 100K at the most often less. It's a great fun car that can be driven conservatively and get great gas mileage or can be driven like a racing car, beat it to death and have a ball. You can't beat the XRS with 'Lift' for the fun factor. Good luck with your decision. The only thing I'd be concerned with is who the previous owner was. Often these cars are bought and driven hard as that's what they're all about. But too hard, abused is another thing.

so make sure that is a lady driven and only one owner.
what about the 05 n 06 xrs...........probably less problems that its early years.

Since you live in Ontario get a Vehicle Information Package to verify ownership:

The package, which the seller must show to potential buyers and give it to the buyer of the vehicle, costs $20 and includes the following:

1. Description of the vehicle

3. Odometer Information
4. If there are any liens registered against the vehicle
5. Wholesale and retail values for the vehicle's model and year (on which the minimum tax payable may apply), if available
6. Retail sales tax requirements
7. Bill of sale
8. Other information such as consumer tips on vehicle safety standards inspections
