2003 XR annoying cruise problem

I have a 2003 Matrix XR, she's running with about 210,000 kms.
The problem started about a month ago, I'll be on the highway, and set the cruise at say 120 or whatever (makes no difference how fast or slow I'm going), when after about 5 minutes, the cruise control just kicks off? I try to set it again, and the little "cruise" light in the dash flickers every time I push the set lever down, not letting me set the cruise on again.

I've searched the net for any similar problems, but most of the problems I find are with the older 92 corollas.

Try to get a OBDII reader and see if there are any stored faults.

Could be many things, however I would consider your brake petal switch. It maybe a little flaky, thus cancelling your cruise control command.

nah, its not the brake peddle switch and I've had the computer read a couple of times with no codes.
