Canada Fog Light Mounting Bracket for 07 Matrix.

Hey guys, I bought a pair of fog light (OEM product) for my 07 Matrix but I am looking for the fog light mounting brackets for my light.

Do you know where I can buy them? I asked 2 of the local Toyota dealers but they told me they don't sell the brackets???

Thanks!!

I just replaced the foglights on my 07 and the "mounting bracket" is part of the front bumper, they're held in by plastic clips that are molded into the back of it.

Wink

I will have my fog light tomorrow and I'm SOOOO happy that I don't have to get the mounting bracket for it...

Now do I also need a special harnass or wiring for the fog light?

Thanks again.

If your car originally came with foglights then you don't need anything special for wiring, just plug the old harness' into the new foglights and you're set

My Matrix doesn't come with fog lights...so I assume I needa get the harness and other wires. Any good place/web site you recommend to buy from?

Oh btw, can I install HID bulbs into the fog light housing?

Thanks again.

alot of toyotas are prewired so chances are the harnes is already there. you could install an ebay hid kit, but I suggest against it.

BTW real hid bulbs need a ballast to work properly.

anything labled HID that looks exactly like the stock bulb is not HID it just has some colored coating on it to give it the appearance of being HID allbeit allot dimmer.

Just curious, how do you remove the black fog light plastic cap on the bumper? I tried to push it in but it's hard...

The only way I could get my foglights in was to remove the front bumper and work on them from the back. Like I said, there's plastic clips molded into the bumper itself, and I'd venture to say, that if you don't pull the bumper, you'll break the clips trying to wrestle the caps out. In my own case, I figured the time taken to remove the bumper was worth the chance of me breaking the clips and having to replace the entire thing. BTW, pulling the bumper off is actually really easy and fast, no more than half an hour I'd say

Ah ok, well if I were to remove the front bumper, are there sites that teach me how to do so? I just wanna see if my car comes pre-wired for the fog light.

Today I bought my car to a garage and have them install the fog light. My 07 Matrix does come pre-wired for the fog light and installing the light was rather easy.

However, they had to install a new relay and a switch in order for the fog light to function...

I got the fog light from LA (TYC branded; Taiwan-made; $90USD for a set). One-hour installation costs $70CDN.

^ Post pictures of the setup (mounted, switch location, housings, etc.)

As some ppl mentioned above, installing the housing is easy. You just have to poke your head under the front bumper a bit and you'll see the clips and "bracket". The hardest part is probably the wiring, b/c if you're like me, you'll want to have a professional-looking job done.

But as you mentioned, you already got it done at a shop, so that's good for you.

BTW, where did you locate the housings? Internet site, Ebay, or private sale?
