low on gas warning light -- too early?

Guys, questions.

I have an '07 base model matrix, auto.

I have worked on my........i think about 5+ tanks now.

I have noticed one thing......the low on gas light comes out a bit too early in my opinion.

I can still drive (either freeway, or local) with A/C on and sometimes harder gas padel for another 40 to 50 miles, and still not running out of gas

Even with 35 to 40 miles after the light comes on, I have only use up totaly about 14.2 gallon of gas. I forgot what is the total gallon for the car though.

But still..........that is a bit too early, don't you think?

I think things are going so well for you that you are looking to bizarre place for problems.

Well, it's just that the older cars don't have their empty tank light set to go off as early as the newer cars. So it kinda screw me up in my head.

I mean, the light comes out when the meter just hit the last section (bar), and I can still drive until the pointer hits half way below the last line on the meter........and that's a lot area to cover for a low tank gas..........

I am just saying.......it's nothing wrong, early warning system is good.......but in this case........a bit too early for me, so it becomes a problem.

anyone know how to adjust the indicator so they don't come on this early?
