Battery empty, 2003 Mtrix

happen the 3th time, when (my wife ) adjusted the mirror and hit the little dip switch and put the map light an. after 2 days the battery is empty !
The light dos not get off when you take the key out of the ignition.
Any suggestions ?

leaving any lights on will kill your battery.. if the map light is turn on and not set to door.. the light will stay on till the battery dies

Do you use the map lights? The easiest solution, besides asking your wife to be careful, would be to disable the map lights.

Yes I was thinking to take the bulbs out, do you know , can I disconnected in the fuse box ?

I would assume that the map lights wouldn't have their own fuse. If that was the case the fuse box would be big enough to fill up the back seat (just kidding). The easiest thing is probably just take the bulbs out. I would assume that the owner's manual probably says how to do it.
