length of trunk when backseats are folded?

i have been thinking about getting the matrix and take it on a road trip, it seems like i can sleep in the back (no, im not a midget) and still get great fuel economy. so how long in inches is it from say, the back of the front seat all the way to the liftgate?

thanks

It's about 5'. I've slept on the pass side (w/ the pass. seat folded down) and it's pretty unconfortable. Then again, that was just w/ a sleeping bag beneath me.

With the passenger seatback down there should be 8'. That's according to the Matrix brochure. While I haven't had to try it out for sleeping, I don't see why it wouldn't be OK with a sleeping pad and sleeping bag. As an aside, I've done plenty of fishing/camping trips and with the back seats down there is quite a lot of room to stow gear without blocking visibility out the back window.

Regards

With the front passenger seat down, I've been able to stuff 10' long 2x4's w/ the hatch closed.
