Trading a corolla for a matrix

am thinking of trading my corolla 99 ve for a matrix xr 04-06.
is it worth it? what kind of price range should i be looking for?
should i trade it to the dealer or sell it private?

When I bought my 05 Matrix 3 years ago, my dealer offered me $2500 for my 97 Corolla, so I sold it privately for $6200 (with extra winter rims n tires). Depends how much they'd give you for it vs. what it's really worth and also supply and demand comes into play. Bottom line is it is only worth what someone will pay for it.

All depends on how well the previous owner took care of it.
Look for a private seller that dealer maintained the car.
