What to offer??

So my girlfriend went and test drove a Matrix last night and loved it.

2007 Matrix XR
Toyota Certified
Automatic
No moonroof
5400 Miles

Dealership wants 17,992 as their "no haggle" price.

Wondering if you think that's fair or what you think she could get them down to. Or would it be smarter to get a brand new one.

Thanks for the help!

What's the price of a new one? A new one may end up to be cheaper due to better financing rates. I got my '06 new with 3.9%, if I had bought one used, financing would have been ~8% or more.

prices vary by area, so if you put up your zip code as well. a good source to use is Kelley Blue Book. check out the private party value, which is usually a good starting point. it will also give you the value that the dealer will want to try to hit as a minimum (suggested retail value), and the maximum price a dealer wants to pay to buy the car used (trade in value). any dealer will haggle despite claiming to have no haggle prices. if you have a trade in, that is a point to haggle with.

After doing more research, she decided to get a brand new one with everything exactly like she wants. Ordering it tomorrow!

Thanks for the responses!
