Canada Battery light on but very dim?

She's an 03 Matrix XR. About 2 weeks ago the batter light came on big and bright. I brought the car in to test the battery and they said my alternator was over charging (it was ranging from 16 to 18 volts). So they changed the alternator and voila the light was off... Or so I thought? during the day you can't see the light, but at night the battery light is on but not to bright.

I've noticed that the car turns over quite slow lately, would a low battery have any effect?

Any ideas? Maybe a bad alternator?

Maybe your old alternater stessed your battery too much and now it is dying. How old is the battery? Is it original? If it is, it may be time for a new one anyway.

That was kind of dumb.

When a battery gets old it starts eating itself and will generate more than 12 volts.

They should have known that the battery was dying.
You should complain.

Google it. It is a common signal that the battery is dying.
