2004 XR scheduled maintenance

Hi all…newbie here (please be kind).

I bought a new 2004 Matrix XR about 3 1/2 years ago, and I now have 40,000 miles on it. So far, all I've done is oil changes and tire rotations every 5,000 miles. I have gotten some mixed signals on what routine maintenance should have been done by now. If anyone would care to share an opinion or a link to some useful info, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Very helpful, Shelbrain. Thanks much.

OK, I've looked over the schedule, and maybe I'm basing this on experience with older cars, but it looks like nothing beyond oil changes, tire rotations, and the occasional air filter changes are needed until 100,000 miles (coolant change) and 120,000 (spark plug change). Does that sound right? I know they are supposed to look at things and fix them when they wear out, but it seems like tune-ups, timing belts, differential oil (and other stuff I'm not remembering) were things you did at certain mileages. Am I just living in the past?

P.S. I'm not doing any wrenching myself (not qualified).
