oil change question

Hey brothers and sisters,
I have on 03 xrs and i am dire need of an oil change nd the last place i took it too did not use the required 5w30 oil so i am done letting people touch my car. My question is i know the matrix requires an odd amount of oil over 4 qts but less then 5 qts, can anyone give me the exact amount, and also is the oil change on our cars a quck easy job or is there anything special i should know because i have only owned audis and BMW's so i am new to the whole toyota thing. Thanks

The exact amount of oil the car can hold is a moot point because it's never all going to come out. What I always do is buy 5 qts of my chosen oil, put 3 qts in, start the car, wait a few minutes, kill the car, wipe the stick, check the oil.

If it doesn't show up, add a quart and check again. No need to restart the car.

The low mark means it's exactly a quart low. Use that to gauge how much you need.

dont forget the oil filter while you are at it.
