key for wheel locks

i am in the middle of a snow storm trying to put on studded tires for my wife and am unable to loosen the keyed nuts on the tires. no mention in the instructions. WHERE IS THE KEY???!1! and what does it look like? any help appreciated.

It looks like a socket. It fits over the lock nut, then you use the lug wrench on this socket. The dealer probably either left it in the glove box, with the wrench, or try the other storage compartments. It's got to be somewhere. Also, don't forget the covered storage immediately behind the rear seats, the long narrow one.

snowing here in north bay like crazy right now- she's on the way to ottawa and it will be good toi know that she'll have the studs on. thanks again.

wow- that was harder than i imagined. the brake drums came off with the wheels - a real wrastling match- and only separated with much hammering. funny- we have the wheels changed winter and summer, but it was really rusted on.

Hmm, never heard of a drum pulling off with the wheel. I had a difficult time romoving my rotors which were rusted onto the hub. The brake components, especially the drums and rotors rust extremely bad on these cars for some reason. Must have used old recycled steel from the 70's! Here's one of my rusted rotors:
