Arrow HID Powering Up Problem.

OK, I just replaced my existing HID ballasts and bulbs with a new set 2 days ago. My car still has the daytime running light enabled and the HID comes on whenever the car starts.

So anyway, I noticed a very strange issue today. The HID doesn't come on when I start my car (whenever I don't have the handbrake pulled), even manually turning on the headlights will not work.

What will make the HID work is make sure the handbrake is pulled before starting the car, then start the engine (while leaving the handbrake pulled), turn on the headlight manually, then release handbrake, start driving...

I never had this problem when I was using my Prolumen HID setup...

So what do you think it's wrong?

.Eric

Should have disabled the DRL's. Now you're blowing bulbs and destroying the ballast. Someone else with thorough knowledge about this may help you even further. I for one disabled the DRL's beforehand and have been using the same bulbs close to 2 years now. *knocks on wood*

I cut the wire tonight and voila, my HID turns on whenever I want it to!!!!

This is kinda strange because my old HID setup worked very well even with DRL enabled...

Is cutting the wire at pin 12 the way to disable DRL on 04+ Matrices? According to http://www.lightsout.org/disable.html#Toyota you cut the yellow wire at pin 8.. Is that just for my '03?

Just cut the red/white wire at pin 12 in the DRL module. That should disable your DRLs completely. You can even put a switch if you wanted to.
