Hi all. I am a new user to this site. Ive got an 03 matrix XR with 104k on the body. Summer of 06 I threw a rod and had to replace the engine. Now about 20k miles later, its been making a sound similar to placing a card in the spokes of a bike wheel. Took it to the dealer and was told i have a cracked flexplate and possibly a busted head gasket. I dont race it, off road it, and its a 4-cyl...im a bit confused on how the heck this happened. Service guy said the engine builders may have very likely built it wrong, or did something wrong when putting it in the car (they are since out of business). Anyone else have this problem?

its not a common problem. but i have seen about 5 of these problems already at the dealership. but this only happened to cars with less then 20,000km.
