First off, I did NOT switch because I was in any way dissatisfied with the car. I really loved that car, but I generally keep a car/truck between one and two years. The Matrix XRS was a blast to drive, and I had no problems with it. I kind of just needed a change again. Heck my Mom drives an 05 Scion Xa, and I always enjoy driving that car as well, even though it is pokey compared to the XRS. I do like the engine in the XRS, and the ultra high redline, and hitting the lift, but I was growing bored. I chose the Xd because I think it looks pretty cool, and that it delivers excellent fuel mileage, and the 1.8 liter engine
should be adequate in performance. You guys noticed I wrote "should be", because I've got less than 300 miles on the car so far, and I haven't kick it in the ass yet. If done all over again, I would buy another XRS Corolla/Matrix. They are great little performance cars that deliver damn good fuel mileage.
