Hooking up a backup camera?

I just bought a new 2008 Matrix XR (I love it so far). I also bought a Kenwood DNX7100 navigation system for it and it came with a Boyo license plate mounted backup camera. The navigation system installed wonderfully, but I am a little lost on how to install the backup camera. There are two main issues I am having:

(1) I need to mount this on the license plate. I have been having trouble removing the plastic covering, I believe I can get to the license plate from the inside wall of the back hatch. Correct? But is there any way of getting the camera's wiring out of there without drilling a hole? The manual doesn't really say if there is any way to funnel wires to the car from that hatch.

(2) I am supposed to hook the camera up the car's rear lamp harness so that when I throw the car into reverse it will trigger the backup camera to turn on. Any idea which wire I should be hooking it up to? The manual doesn't help on this issue.

I would greatly appreciate any help!
