Thumbs up 298,901 on "05"

Just an update for anyone interested. I will hit the 300,000 (Not a typo) next week. Only problem I've had is fuel senser that had to be replaced in Sept of 07. I will post photos later today of odometer. I love my Matrix!!

You won't do it! The odometers only go to 299,000. I'll be interested to see what Toyota will do for you. I've heard they want to charge to replace the whole gauge at a ridiculous price. Keep us posted!

299,999+

Well, you are right. I hit 299,999 about 150 miles ago & the odometer stopped ! I'm very disappointed. It's going to be hard to prove the mileage from this point on.

I'd go back to Toyota and see what they'd do for you. You could start publicizing this to make Toyota look kinda silly on a 3 year old car and the odometer has run out of life at 299,999. Or Toyota could give you a good will gesture in turn for some free advertising from you as a real life example of the reliability that Toyota stands up to. It's all how you present it. Try it. Good luck.

Wow! A lot of miles there on your odo.

On the other hand, sucks to have the odometer stop working after 299k. Toyota has something called "goodwill warranty" and hopefully they will cover it under this for you. My radiator started leaking and at 40,000 KM and it was $730. I was out of warranty, but Toyota still replaced it free of charge under the "goodwill warranty" where they check if you brought the car in regularly for service and maintenance, they would be willing to cover under warranty.

Well I just spoke with Toyota & they stated I need to take it in to the dealership to diagnose the problem.(of course)Toyota is stating that this is NOT an on going issue. I tend to disagree considering the replies I have received. I'm going to see the CSR at the dealership today. I'll keep you all posted.

There was an article about this online and a response from Toyota Canada acknowledging the problem. Can't remember where I saw it. It's a known issue, obviously, lol.

holy crap ... that means only 262,800 or so miles to go on our '05 til we max out the odo ... LOL

good to hear of such longevity, we've had our CPO XRS for about 2 months (37k now) and like it.

cheers,
Jon

Angry

Well I finally head back from Craig @ airport Toyota. He stated that he contacted someone from Toyota & was told that "Well she got 300000 miles out of it. Thats pretty good." So they are not going to do anything other than they offered to give me a quote to replace it. Go figure...lol
