I got 2004 Matrix XR. One of the lights in the instrument panel, behind the fan controls went off and I have no idea how to replace it. I call Toyota and they quoted me $90 for labour plus the cost of the bulb. What a rip-off

!!!

Anyone has done it himself?

Pull the centre knob off and you'll see one screw. Undo this screw and pry the surround cover off. You'll see the bulb then. Very easy to replace.

go to this site to see pics of disassembling and reassembling the area you need to get in to replace a light. this goes further in depth as it is for replacing the shift boot, but it gets you as far as you need to go.
