For the first generation, the interiors were exactly the same. Until the 05-08 models when the head units were upgraded on the Toyota models. Styling is different and I find that the Vibe looks more aggressive than the Matrix, all depends on the person.

Second generation, the styling is still different and once again, Pontiac looks more aggressive than the Toyota counterpart.

new vibes are likely to have better financing rates thru GM vs toyota

you can pick up a used vibe 1-3000 cheaper than a matrix...

being that the pontiacs are "american", they will have generally have a lower retail value than the toyota, so despite being virtually identical, and being made with the same components, the vibe will almost always run cheaper than the matrix in the same condition, just as thebarber said before me.

Pontiac vibe, Toyota parts but assembled by GM, under GM unionized workers and GM quality control. NUMI plant in the US

Toyota matrix, Made under toyota plant by Toyota non unionized trained workers and Japanese quality control, . Toyota plant in Cambridge Ontario

A lot of people say they are the same,, I would say NO,, quality is different.
They are made by 2 different company cultures and standards..

i had about 10,000$ in warranty work done to my matrix xrs...quality, eh?

maybe yours is one of the 7 lemons out of 100 matrix produced by toyota..

if you live on this side of the world where common sense exist, you know no manufacturer is perfect..

well, the matrix/vibe platform has more problems then im sure you know about...

either way, be it a matrix or a vibe, youll have the same car...
