03 Matrix needs a lil love

Hey guys/gals,

I just got an 03 Matrix XR auto with 119k miles. I bought it from a repo guy I know, so I got it pretty cheap (3000). The interior is rough, but she runs good. I've already put in a new starter, and new brakes (rotors, drums, everything) so the majors are out of the way. Just need new tires, one OEM wheel and massive interior detail.

It's a good bet that the previous owner didn't perform the regular maintence on her, so does anyone have a list of the regularly scheudled maintence to be performed at various milage stones?

Thanks. I sold my 'rolla to get this thing, and I just want to give it the love it deserves before I do any mods.

Also, at the price I paid, worst comes to worse, I can drop in a new JDM engine and still be under private party value. If that were to happen, I'd probably want to upgrade to an XRS engine. Would that swap work???

The XRS has a different manual transmission than the base or xr, but i dont know about the automatic (what a waste with a good motor). the 2zz that goes into the XRS has a displacement of 1794 CC while the 1zz is something about 1763 cc. just go by a stealership and look at a trix xrs to see which side the tranny is on, because they might have the tranny on driver side in one model and passenger side on the other. i have the xrs, but that is outside away from my computer and i am a little too lazy to go out and look. the other thing to be careful about checking is the engine mounts.
