Project Faster

Current Mods
Compustar Two Way Alarm
30% Tint
Window Visors
Escort 8500 x50 Radar Detector
Broadway Mirror

So I'm just here listing the mods I'm going to do this Spring.

HIDs 4300k Banbo Kit
Tein S Tech Lowering Springs
10% Tint 5 Windows
DC Strut Bar
Rear Sway Bar
Cosmo CAI or SRI

Depending on how much I have left

Anything I'm missing?

I don't want to mess with the warranty so I'm keeping the mods simple bolt ons.

piggy back chip - lets you keep original chip and when you take car into the dealer, just take the piggyback off

shocks - tokicos blues are pretty good, but so are koni yellows, as are several others

new hood - go with fiberglass if you aren't rich enough for carbon fiber. if you go with a SRI, then i suggest a hood with a scoop. if you go with the CAI, then the scoop doesnt matter so much

new high powered ignition - this will give you a better spark, and will let you run higher octane fuel better.

new header - on the 1zz, people have found better gains replacing the stock header. on the 2zz, people seem to do better using the stock header but getting it ported & polished.

2ZZ motor to replace the 1zz...

replace the passport 8500 with a 9500i (like what i have) because it has GPS on it and it is a bit smarter

Instead of S-Techs, go with Coilovers. May cost a bit more but at least you don't have to buy struts to replace the OEM ones and you can change height at will.
Instead of axle-back, go catback. Mang-da-flow ftw.
Chips are a waste on the 1ZZ without any kind of F/I.
C/F hood is more for looks although you lose like 20 or so pounds.
Get light rims.
If you can find a TRD STB, get that. Although the DC looks good. I like it.
Good luck.

As of today, I installed a 8000K HID kit.

I bought Tein S Techs and Progress RSB. Waiting to install it.

I still have to buy a DC Sport or TRD Strut Bar, we'll see what happens.

update.

I got a TRD Strut Bar and I'm picking up some Scion TC 17 inch wheels.

Install on the springs and the sway bar will occur within the next two weeks. DIY is the only way to learn more about your car.

So I just got an axle back, s techs, progress rsb, hids, and my strut bar installed.

Now I'm waiting for Tokicos Blue Shock and free time to install them.

on the sway bars...go with front and rear instead of just rear. from what i have looked into, hotchkis is better for sway bars, and the matrix is part #22402.
