Good Set of Bulbs

My dads bulbs on his 05 Matrix XR burnt out, well 2 but he just replaced them with the stock bulbs that came with his car for now. He was using Silvannia Silverstar bulbs and I told him to get some HIDs. He isn't the most knowledgable about cars, nor me. So I decided to post here and find out what a good set of bright bulbs were that you don't need a conversion kit or anything. He doesn't see well at night when driving, so I think a bright pair of hids would do him some good.

Thanks, Brendan

If you can, go for some HIDS. I have seen a big improvement in lighting in my Matrix.

over at matrixowners.com, there is a group buy on HID (high intensity discharge) kits right now for $115 each. This is the lowest price for a decent set of lights i have seen. I would suggest that if you do decide to go for HIDs, that you look into that kit.

HIR (halogen infra red) put off about 80% as much light as HIDs, and in some places, HIDs are illegal to have while on the roadway, whereas HIRs are okay. If you want more details on the illegal part of HIDs, go onto matrixowners.com and search for HID.
