USA tC Wheels

I went to my local Toyota dealership to ask about ordering a set of 17" tC wheels. My own limited car knowledge seemed to carry further than that of the sales tech I spoke to, so I knew from the start it was not going to go well. I asked how much a set would cost, mentioning I knew of several cases where people picked them up at a relatively inexpensive price. The tech told me it would be $347. So I'm thinking, awesome deal, lets get em ordered! Then he told me that's per wheel without rubber. $1388 for wheels and then I have to spend 100-200 on tires. HAH! So I basically said never mind, have a nice day. How did some of you guys pick up wheels so cheap?! How can Toyota charge $1400 for rims when an '09 tC is $17,600? Almost 10% of the total cost of the car for a simple 17" alloy 6 spoke design... WTF!!

thats probably ordering brand new rims, alot of the times when ppl get them cheap from the dealer is when they are off a brand new car b/c the owner ordered new wheels instead of the stockers

Sounds about right for new OEM wheels. Getting take offs, or barely used ones are where the deals are.
