tail lights and dash not workng and it's not fuse 18?

Whle checking fuse 18 I did find two wires that seem like they should be attached somewhere but I can't find where. Can anyone help or does every matrix owner have these two wires going nowhere?

It is entirely possible that those wires don't go to anything. They may just be for options that you don't have. Most cars have some wiring that goes no where for just that reason.

Wish I could help more.

it turns out it was/is the fuse. my bad. I guess I wasn't looking close enough, however it keeps blowing out when I replace it with a new one. I did replace the stereo recently? I'll have to look for wires touching I guess?

Lightbulb

If you just installed a stereo check the Illumination Ground wire on the wiring harness you used between your head unit and the toyota wiring harness. If connected to ground then power back feeds thorough the circuit causing the fuse to blow thus causing your tail lights and accessory dash lights to go out. I had the same problem 2 months ago after installing my new alpine Head Unit.
