Subs Question for Trunk Space in Matrix

Hello,

I am thinking of placing a 10" sub with enclosure in the trunk space of my Matrix. I'm worried that it may slide around in the back because of the smooth surface. I'm thinking of getting a cargo mat or cargo liner from Toyota to prevent this from happening (also to prevent other things from sliding all over the place). Which one is better to get? More functional? Which looks better?

Thx.

I've got the cargo liner ... it's made of plastic (or vinyl) molded to the trunk. We thought this would be the best way to go, but ours doesn't seem to fit properly, and seems rather cheap. The stuff we put in there usually slides across it just as much as the normal plastic trunk liner.

My Suggestion, use the tie downs in the trunk to "strap" in the sub enclosure.

Thanks for the info. As long as we're on the subject of accessories, did you buy the all-season mats as well? If so, how do they fit? I'd rather go get cheaper ones at Canadian Tire, but they don't fit properly over the carpet and leave parts exposed.

What I've seen some guys do is to use those black knobs on the tracks to 'trap' and squeeze the box.

The cargo mat or liner is a trade off. I think the carpeted mat looks better and can be easily vacuumed but the (rubber) liner can grip items in the trunk better and can wipe up spills better.

As for all-season mats, I just bought those Pantsaver mats from Walmart cuz they have those channels that contain the water better than the Toyota mats. They may not fit too well but it does the job.

I made my own rear cargo floormat thingy out of thin fiberboard cut to shape. Covered in carpet so stuff dont slide around.
