diesel in motor designed for gasoline can seriously mess it up. first off, diesel is less combustible than gas. diesel motors start with a high compression ratio (~14:1). turboed gas motors stock, like a wrs sti get up around 13.5:1 compression when the turbo is blowing as hard as it gets.
fuel is put in at a different time in diesels than it is on gas motors. for gas, the piston is down and the cylinder has air in it when the gas is sprayed in, then the piston goes up compressing the fuel/air mix, then a spark is provided to ignite the whole mess. for diesels, the cylinder is filled with air, then compressed, and it is when the piston is almost all the way up that the diesel fuel is pushed in.
i have heard of an older truck motor, (i think it was a chevy motor, but i dont recall) was good enough that if you change out the heads on it, you could convert it from gas to diesel, but otherwise, you dont want to put diesel into a gas motor.
