Turbo on a AWD Matrix

hey guys,

I was just cleaning out my garage the other day and found that we still have the stock turbo from a '02 Subaru WRX. As you can tell from the title of this thread you can already guess what is going through my mind.

I guess my next question is. is it possible to fit it into the matrix?? or would I be better off just buying a kit that is specifically for the matrix?? I believe the stock WRX turbo is a TD04-13T-6... if anyone has any opinions or advice on how to or should or shouldn't do please I am all ears....

thanx

just strapping the turbo on won't quite work. you will need to replace the header (which is a good idea anyway with a 1zz), and of course the intercooler is a good idea, then you will want a chip, higher flow fuel pump, fuel injectors, throttle body, air intake, exhaust system, and high voltage ignition system. while the turbo itself is probably the single most expensive piece, and the header could fit into the turbo easily enough (maybe with a little fabrication), the other parts all add up in price, and it is known to have people turbo a 1zz motor.

if you do go through with this, be careful with the transmission. the automatic tranny hooked up to that motor is only good for about 200 horsepower otherwise it is liable to break on you. this could make for a great track car if you do get it set up.
