Leaky Sunroof?

Has anyone experienced issues with their sunroof or moon roof leaking? I heard that this was a problem in this model car.

my step-dad used to be a mechanic and he told me once that any vehicle with a sunroof will eventually leak. it is sealed with rubber that will, over the years, dry out and crack eventually. there is probably stuff you can use to treat the rubber, which puts specific oils back into it and that should keep it going longer, but if it is any indication to you, i have had my car for about a year, and i got it used. it is a 2003, and i dont think the previous owner did any upkeep to the sunroof.

With that theory, all the windows will leak eventually too. I honestly wouldn't even give it another thought. Sunroofs are a safe bet these days.

Turned out someone actually tried to break in by cutting the sealant around the sunroof, causing it to leak!

that is more hassle than it is worth. it would have been easier to break the sunroof glass and crawl in.
