2 of 3 lights out on clock/radio/CD display

Hi,

2003 Matrix XR I've had for 2 years. When I got it one of the red lights that illuminate the clock/radio/CD display was out. This only was a problem seeing the Track # of the CD in bright light conditions.

Now another light went out so I cannot read the display at all. Probably could live without the clock, I have a watch and cell phone. However it makes tuning the radio, knowing where you are on a CD pretty difficult.

Has this happened to anyone and is there a fix?

Thanks in advance,

i have had my 03 for a little over a year now, and the CD player is messed up. i talked to the dealer i got it from, and when i got it, i opted for the extra warranty then. it has come into play now, as the deck is going to be replaced per the warranty i got. if you got it from a dealership, i would suggest you talk to them to see if it would be covered under warranty, and if it is, have them replace it for you, which only costs you the gas to get to them and go home.

thanks for the reply

Yeah, not under warranty.

I'm afraid you may be right that the fix is to replace it. Not likely I can take it apart and replace two red lights. Or more likely some light display module or something.
