Help: head light conversion

Hello,

I brought a Toyota Matrix 2007 XR from Canada to Norway.

Now I have some problem in registering the car because of the differences in the lightening system (head light) between Norwegian cars and North American cars.

The parking and signal lights in the Matrix head light are combined and is amber color which is different in Norway.

In Norway, these two lights are separated and the parking light is white while the signal light is still amber color.

I could not find a compatible head light for my car in Norway as it is not produced in Europe (even through the Toyota dealership in Norway).

I need to separate the parking and signal light and change the parking light to white.

I am wondering if you can help me finding a solution for this problem.

Any help would be appreciated as I am against the wall.

Thanks

^lol. X3 headlights will not solve his problem.

Changing the signal bulb from amber to white is easy. Replace w/ bulb that produces a white light!

Can you clarify what you mean by "parking light"? Do you mean lowbeam?

And when you say "separate" the parking light and the signal light, do you need them to work independently of each other?

Thanks for all your reply.

Yes Mistamatix is correct. X3 headlight will not solve my problem.

As yo said changing the amber signal light is easy. No it is not low beam. They have a separate light as parking light but I am not sure of the use of it. Even in the matrix 2007 repair and service manual (a pdf file I have) shows that parking and signal light are same and work together.

Yes they want me to those two lights work independently from each other.

Only way it seems is to drill a hole on the headlight and put another light as parking light. I have contacted a garage in Oslo and he say he has done it and he is ready to do it for me. I am bit scared as he also tells me there is a little risk of breaking the headlight. That's why I am looking for other alternatives. But if I do not find one soon, then I have to take the risk.

Again, what are you referring to as "parking light"?

There are 3 lights at the headlights...signal, lowbeam and highbeam.

i think he means the low beam(which is the middle center bulb) and signal works together..he wants signals and the low beam to work independently....if that's the case why not disconnect the DRL's ?? since your Trix is bought in Canada.....otherswise drill a hole on your fenders and get side markers....
