Canada Your Matrix Review

Just wondering your thoughts on your Matrix. How do you like it? Reliable, fun to drive, good gas milage? Are you glad you got it or wish you would have picked something different.
I have a 98 corolla and was thinking of getting a Matrix for some more room. Just wondering your review of it to sway me the to the Matrix side.

I'm happy with my 2004 Matrix (base): it's a good mix of fun and fuel economy, and is extremely "sensible" with all the cargo and passenger room (which I use often). Given hindsight, I would have gone for an XR (but I bought it used and didn't have that option). I regularly get 6.0 L/100km, and have pushed it down to around 5.6.

Not the peppiest car around, but that can be fixed somewhat with a little tuning here and there (which I've not done yet).

Love my XR model Matrix.

Plenty of room, looks great after 6 years of ownership (bought it on 5/31/02) and great fuel mileage!

Not very responsive in terms of acceleration with Drive By Cable - 05-08
Good seating position, but I find that the steering wheel is still slightly in the way when I get in the car
Great visibility

Only cons I have is probably due to my driving style but I have to replace the Pulley Tensioner every 6000 miles.. don't know why it keeps failing

I've had my '08 trix for almost a year now and haven't had any issues with it. I've got 20,650 miles on it and I'm very happy with it. Acceleration is good with the manual tranny. Gas mileage is averaging about 35mpg combined. There is a ton of interior room for a small car. There is plenty of leg room in the back seats.

Canada Love It

I have a 2006 All Wheel Drive because I live in a rural area with snow. This is my second Matrix (I traded for AWD) and I am very pleased - OK gas mileage, never stuck, lots of cargo space, comfortable back seat for long leggeds, just regular service so far. My other vehicle is a 2005 Tacoma - love it too - I like being up higher and more clearance when there is snow. Overall I highly recommend Matrix and Tacoma!
