Question "help"

Hello all,
Im new to this site, and i owned my matrix for about a year now. Love the car, but now I ran into a problem. Went for a state inspection and it failed for emissions, due to no data came up for my car emission and On-board diagnostic system connector is damaged, missing, or obstructed. Has anyone run into this problem before? If so, what was done to fix the problem. Don't want to take it to the stealership, want to fix the problem on my own. Can I just buy a new OBD2 connector and repace the damage one? Please, Please Help!! I have only 2 weeks to fix it and time is not on my side. Thnks.

If you can take some pictures of your connector maybe we can see what you are faced with. There are also other reason that may affect the OBDII system's ability to communicate, a loose ground for example.

Well, I went out and bought myself a OBD2 scanner. When I plug it in it reads fine. I'm thinking there is something wrong with there scanner. is that possible? Maybe they just trying to rip me off.

It is possible that they have bent a pin or something in their connector, which won't allow it to communicate with your car. Since you have check your car with your own scanner, you should be able to go back and have it tested. If it still have problem communicating then ......
