USA SRI = less MPG??

Hey guys i bought a SRi off ebay for my 05 XR and now my mgp has gottne worse, i was getting 28-29 city and last i filled up im @ 21..WTF? i drive it easy so i dont get it, are there crappy sri's out there? i did reset the computer but i shouldnt be getting that bad of mpg...ideas??? I run nothing but priemum in it and baby it all the time(not that it could get up n' go if it wanted to)

If you reset the ecu the MPG is gunna be crappy for a while.

Otherwise in theory an SRI should improve MPG, that is if you don't change your driving habits. (mashing the pedal every chance you get)

So regardless what what mpg the car can achieve it wont untill the ecu says so? How long should it take to relearn? this will make my third tank and ive only gone around 290mi. ALSO when i first installed the sri i was constantly getting the po171(i think that what it was) for being lean. shouldnt the ecu correct for this? Thanks for the reply

wait. This is your third tank of gas in only 290 miles??? If so something is very wrong.

try posting on www.matrixowners.com you'll most likey get some good answers there.

I do think a SRI makes the MPG worse. I noticed on my camry the same effect. I converted the SRI to a CAI and it became normal.
