Squeaky Interior

I have noticed that when it gets really cold outside, my front dash is making this squeaky sound, but when it gets warm, the sound is gone. Does anyone have this problem??????

What about engine noise? Does anyone have engine noise issues?

Ive noticed a tiny bit of squeaking when it gets cold here (Alabama...cold is like 40 degrees) but its only over really rough roads. I assume its because the plastics may contract a bit in the cold leavin more room to shudder and stuff...and in the heat they expand and fit tigher together

The Matrix is prone to dash rattles and squeaks. The chrome rings around the gauges are popular. So is the A pillar on the driver's side especially in the cold. It was what?...-5C? -8C today?
Wait til it gets colder than that. It gets more interesting. I guess the good thing is that it does all seem to go away once the interior warms up.

Some guys have complained about the chrome rings around the gauges and the dealer will fix-it. Or you could also do it yourself. Some have put double sided tape to create some sort of buffer to reduce the squeak/rattle.

I have or had 2 engine issues I can think of.
1) When it got really cold last winter, like -15C to -20C and colder, my accessory drive belt squeeked like a mofo. It created a high pitched sound and it didn't go away even after the engine warmed up. I brought it in and had that belt replaced under warranty...no more squeeky squeeky.

2) When it dips down to -15C or colder in the mornings, the starter makes almost like a grinding noise. It sounds really horrible but I guess it's normal cuz it's so cold and all.

My 2000 Camry has annoying dash rattles when the temperature gets below 45 degree F. I hate it! I wanted to get a Matrix, but I would hate the dash rattles.

I noticed that my car is having the same problem also, its a 2005 corolla, just about a month old now -- i was suprised that toyota didn't look into / catch this interior 'defect' as I guess it could be called.

For the first week or two there was no interior squeaking, but then I started to notice it one day while driving to work.

I'd like to think it only makes noises in the morning, I havent paid enough attention to see if it does the same throughout the day as it gets warmer outside. Glad to know though I'm not the only one irrtated by this...=\

The rear speaker on the driver side of my matrix rattle the seat belt fixture at the top. So it sounds like the speakers' blown or something to that effect.

I've had a few squeeks in my Matrix since I got it in Aug 05 and it hasn't really been cold in Toronto yet. Sometime my passenger seat vibrates and rumbles when there is no one in it and I'm stopped at a light. Everything squeeks a little more when it gets cold, including my bones.
