2007 Matrix is going

I have my 2007 Matrix XR for a year now and I think its time to go. Its been reliable but not too comfortable. I am 5'11" and when I have the seat back to where I'm comfortable, it feels like I'm reaching way out for the steering wheel. I also hate the long warm up times and buzzy interior noises at certain speeds that I have not been able to track down. I'm thinking about trading the Matrix in for a 2009 Jeep Rubicon for my wife and taking over her 2003 Tacoma double cab. I'm not a big Jeep fan as far as quality goes but I really don't think Toyota's quality is the same it use to be also. Any input on the Jeep would be appreciated. Thanks

Sorry to hear about the trix. I had an 03 (it sat in the garage most of time while we drove our other rigs) and liked it for the most part but i know what you mean about the noises.
I love the look of the new wranglers. I had an 02 Liberty Limited. That thing was a gas guzzler that had some aggervating clicking sounds related to the brakes that no one could pinpoint or fix at the two dealers in my area that i took it to. It was fun while it lasted though.
You'll enjoy the taco. I had a 2000 tacoma and loved it. You're 03 isnt that much different than mine was (other than the headlights and grill). Why is the rubicon being considered?

My wife loves the look of the Rubicon. Her 03 Tacoma that I'm going to start using has a 3" bodilift, 1.5" suspension and 32X11.50X15 BFGoodrich's on 15X10 rims. It looks very nice. I know if I bought a regular Wrangler, I would end up spending more money to make it look beefy than the I just bought the Rubicon and left it alone. My wife doesn't drive much and especially not much on the highway. She's only on the highway for one exit each way to and from work. We bought the Taco brand me in 2003 and it currently only has 23,000 miles on it. With this being said, I can't see her using more than a half a tank of gas a week in the Wrangler. I really wish Toyota would make a small SUV with a removable top. Anyway, right now Jeep is offering $1500 cash back on 09's plus employee pricing plus 0% for 4 years. The sticker on the Rubicon is around $32,000 and with the incentives it is now $27,000 plus there giving me $14,000 for my Matrix with 19,000 miles on it. The Matrix is a OK car but doesn't wow me. I think my previous 96 Corolla was more comfortable and better built than my 07 Matrix. My wifes really likes the Jeep so I figure if I'm going to make a payment every month, it should be on something we like rather than something to just drive.

Right on. I like your thinking about not having to mod the rubicon. Post up some pics when you get it. I love those things.

Also, its hard to beat those kind on incintives. ^_^
