2005 Airbag Light

Hey all...

I have an 05 Matrix AWD XR. The driver's side airbag seems to come on intermittently. There's no rhyme or reason to it at this point.

I've been putting off doing anything about it because it doesn't do it all the time, and I'm anticipating an expensive repair. Any ideas on the best way to go about taking care of this? I haven't had any diagnostics done on it yet. I'm really dreading the cost on all of this.

I bought it used 2 years ago, no warranty, and it has about 82K on it now.

Thanks!

I have the same problem. On mine, it will occasionally come on in the morning when it is cold out. After starting it up the second time the light stays off. I too haven't taken it in for fear of the cost. As long as it's intermittent I'm not going to have it looked at.
I know this doesn't help much but you know what they say. (misery loves company).

Most of the time it's just a code for the Occupant Classification ECU recalibration and sensitivity check. (pass front seat) No parts, about an hour labor.
Like I said, most of the time.

Now that I think about it, I keep the Pass seat down and pile things on it so maybe thats whats causing the warning light , thanks for the INFO...
