Question Help!!

Hi,

I am currently trying to buy a 2003 Matrix XRS, but they are impossible to find in Toronto.
I am testdriving a 2004 base model tonight, along with one of the demos from the dealer.
Anyone have any advice before I buy? Are there any problems that anyone has found with the car?

I found an amazing 2003 XRS, that comes with tints, and the fog light/front lip package for around 21 G's outside of the city with about 30000 mileage. Is that too high?

Thanks

If you're shopping for an automatic, avoid the XRS, you're better off with the XR. 30k is quite a bit of mileage for less than a year of driving.

All the 04 XRS' are standard. So I'm definately thinking of buying standard.
I think the reason that the car has so many miles on it is because it was a demo for about a year. Is buying a demo a bad idea?

You can test drive my 03 XRS 6spd.

Only way I'd buy a demo is if they'd take at least $5000 off the price. Which they probably wouldn't.

The XRS has pretty much everything standard in it. It's a whole lot more fun to drive than the base/XR, especially at high rpms.

Hahahaha...

You wouldn't let me test drive it if you knew I've NEVER driven standard before!
I gotta talk someone into teaching me b4 i get an XRS, so I might look at the 2003 XR.

thanx for the offer tho !

Buying demos are a hit or miss.

Sometimes they're beat-up but yea do ask them to take more off the price because if this is off from a dealer they most likely want to get rid of it quick.

I'll try negotiating with them about the price...

They've also offered to throw in winter tires @ cost, because I mentioned that the 17" they come with are hard to handle in the snow/rain

What price should I be expecting on a 2003 XRS with 30K of mileage??
Thanks for the advice

Check out some of the 2003 XRS' in autotrader.ca.
Some are going for about $21-23K.

If you can't get the price you want, tell them to throw stuff in.
What dealer is the demo at?

Pickering dealership
I went to see it tonight
I was looking at the XR model as well, and wanted them to throw in the front lip and they wanted to charge me 1800-2000 on top of the regular price, so i won't be going back there
The demo is way overpriced tho
30K for $25000 and the thing is beaten there are scratches all over the car
The yellow and black leather interior is nice

I'm looking at a 2003 RSX 6-Speed in Barrie on Saturday
$21,000
-Leather detailing
-ABS
-6 CD Changer
-Sun Roof
It has about 30,000 clicks on it as well

Is that $25000 before taxes? If it is, that's insane.
A new one is $24540!

I'm thinking they figured "well she's just a girl, lets see what she'll pay." I hate that kinda shit. If you call up Brimell Toyota and ask for Albert, he may be able to help you out. I've met him a few times, super nice guy. Just tell him you got his name from TN.

They justified marking the demo @ 25K because it had leather interior and minimal body work. Im just pissed that they were trying to charge me two grand for a front lip when i was thinking about buying a new car from them.
He was also trying to tell me that it would have been cheaper to lease an 04 XR than to buy a used 03 XRS. There's like $10,000 difference at the end of the four years. Anyways, the dealership that I've been talking to over the last few days in Barrie seems to be pretty good and they're at least willing to negotiate on the price and throw in some good stuff on the side
Ill check out Brimell as well though
Thx for the tip
