ac clutch won't engage

My ac clutch will not engage, but it does turn manually. I have checked all the fuses. A mechanic told me that it was an electrical problem, that the fan, condenser, and freon were all good. I would like to fix this myself if anyone has suggestions I would appreciate it.
Thank you!
Vanessa

check the a/c relay.

it is becoming more common with the Matrix as an issue.

There is more than one relay for the ac, could you say which one? They are all kind of pricy.

magnetic clutch relay, if that is not the issue, there might be a bolt missing from the a/c clutch.

the relay will be about $100 to replace @ the dealer, will be cheaper if you just buy the part from them and have you or someone you trust install it for you.

Go to autozone and get the relay, in the mean time, use your horn or fog relay to see if that fixes it.

I've tried replacing the relays, but that was not the problem. There don't appear to be any bolts missing...

Three days ago the clutch engaged, amazingly, and the ac worked all day. The next day, no luck.
