They wanted to charge me $7000/year on my old Celica with a clean record. Try RBC, they're not too bad.

I'm paying $2200/yr roughly on my XRS. (State Farm)
It all comes down to age, location, driving history and many other factors. Best thing to do is call as many as you can for quotes.
Even if you had an twin sister and had the same record as you did, you both would still be paying different amounts.

one thing to also try but I dont know how they work it up in Canada is commercial insurance.

If you use your matrix for work *which I occasionally do * then you qualify for commercial insurance. You *and if you have a sig other* are covered and are the only ones covered if your the drivers...passengers are of course covered under normal insurance circumstances but if someone else is driving your car and they get in an accident then they are NOT insured. Then again that is what I was told and it might have been just a scare tactic to deture people away from lettin others drive the car.

This is how it is in the states but definately check into it up there. It saves you SSSSOOOOOOOO much money
