Replaced my Stock Stereo with a custom one a while back in my 2003 Xrs, and the problem is the color of my new stereo is a great looking dark blue color, and i was hoping to make my Instrument cluster the same color as that, and if anyone knew how. does anyone know where i can find an online manual, or a kit?
the owner used one of the members from m a t r i x o w n e r s . com as a blueprint.
Awesome workmanship and OEM fit.
that seems kind of steep... i checked out some other kits on eBay, they only cost about $30 I mean what does the kit really do? Isn't it just replacing the back lights in the panel?
haha your talking about the dash itself... im talking about the lights from in instrument cluster... its a lil different...
"haha" ummm WRONG! yes! Im talking about the cluster, why spend hundreds of dollars buying a new one and/or brake your head trying to change all the leds inside the cluster when you can just put some vinyl overlay over the protective plastic cover! it will change the light color for sure! and cost less than $10

I also saw XR2003's link and thought, man thats way to much to spend on just changing the color of the gauges. I changed mine to blue by scratch and here's how it turned out:
Let me know if you wanna know how I did it Maybe some of you can guess how lol!
unless you can get your hands on an '04 gauge cluster, then all you have to do is use blue painters tape(amount depends on how dark you want it) and tape behind the face itself.

thats pretty sweet, but were your leds in your gauge cluster red? because thats how mine are, and also how do you pop off the needles? im afraid of forcing them, but if thats what your supposed to do, then i will...
FPSHunter, yeah I thought the same thing when I was taking mine apart, thought I was gonna break em :/. But after a while of frustration I gave up an just ripped them out, and it's fine there just a really snug fit, so don't worry lol

I'm dying to change my "faceplate" for my instrument panel. I made up a design using photoshop and I can't figure out how to best print it. Any suggestions? Also where can you find these vinyl overlays you were talking about?
